Summary

Since ancient times, humans have exploited natural resources to secure their lives and used the land to dispose of waste, which did not pose significant problems due to the small size of settlements, low waste production, and large areas of unoccupied land. However, as humans began to gather in villages and cities, the challenges of waste collection and disposal became apparent. These issues intensified with the increasing population density in urban areas and the expansion of economic activities. The Industrial Revolution, marked by widespread technological advancements, significantly contributed to pollution, as industries became major sources of waste dumped into the environment.

Industrial waste refers to any unwanted materials produced from various industrial activities and processes. This includes chemical solvents, dyes, metals, paints, packaging materials, and other solid waste, as well as liquid waste such as industrial wastewater and used oils.

This course is offered by the British Academy For Training And Development.
