Records Security and Maintaining Important Documents

Summary

Document and information security refers to protecting information from being altered or modified by unauthorized individuals. When someone hacks into your private data, either intentionally or unintentionally, it is termed a data breach. For example, if a computer virus infects your system, it can change or damage your data, which compromises data integrity. Breaches can also happen when an unauthorized employee modifies their salary in a payroll system or when someone damages a website.

Additionally, data integrity ensures that any changes to the data are immediate. For instance, if a bank customer withdraws or deposits money, these transactions should instantly reflect in their account. Disabling data isn't always a deliberate act; sometimes, a software bug can cause issues. Therefore, acquiring adequate knowledge and experience in managing information security is crucial.

This training course in information security at the British Academy for Training and Development will equip participants with the necessary skills to safeguard sensitive information effectively.
