What are the most common injuries in the workplace? and what's  the appropriate  first-aid?

The burn:

Is considered the most common injuries which is result of touching the chemical or the electricity which cause sudden cardiac arrest.

The fist-aid of the burn:

  • Prevent the injured from running.
  • Prevent hurting the skin and exacerbating the injury: removing the cause of the burn, through extinguishing the burning clothes by covering the injured with a quilt or coat.
  • Do not move the injured on the ground to prevent the pollution.
  • Do not wash the injury with the water ( it increases the pain).
  • Reducing the effects of loss of fluid from burning tissue, through the conscious injured drinks water, milk and tea, but this is not permissible in case of vomiting or nausea or unconscious.
  • Transferring the injured to the hospital.

In the case of touching the electricity, should check the injured (if is conscious, will breath, and if is unconscious will not breath and know where to enter and exit to determine the extent of damage, so will happen a blood clot in the blood vessels which leads to organ amputation and might happen cardiac arrhythmia, whole-body tremors and cardiac arrest.

The wounds:

Is considered also one of the most common injuries, The task of the paramedic is stopping the blood flow until the wounded being transferred to the hospital.

Course Content

To stop bleeding temporarily:

  • With the hand and the fingers press on the bleeding area, the use a sterile and clean bandage.
  • During the bleeding from one of the limbs should raise the limb up, as long as does not have a fracture this method decreases the blood flow out of the body.
  • In the case of extreme bleeding should raise the lower limbs up, it's helping to transfer the blood to the heart and the brain that need to it.
  • Transferring the injured to the hospital and observing the return of bleeding again.
