Before initiating a discussion:

- Always remember that brief words are the best, so before you open your mouth to speak, stop and think twice about what you are going to say. Too many people actually speak before they think; therefore when their words come out, they don’t provide the intended meaning. So it's highly preferable to pause a moment before speaking, in order to allow your internal filters to take over and lead.

Pay Attention to Signals

- As you speak with other people, pay intensive attention to body language signals in conversation. If you continue talking long after they have mentally not interested, you may find yourself alone, or worse, not invited to the next mutual communication. The moment you realize you’ve spoken too much, take a break, and give someone else a chance to talk.

- Always try to have a sense of other's interests and points of concern, that's why you have to know everything about something, and something about everything. One of the most important rules of conversation is to share what others are talking about, but that will be impossible if you do not have any idea what they are talking about, surely no one is required to know details about everything, but at least to be aware and familiar with topics of general interest.

When talking to others

- Try to communicate with your eyes, where eye communication is one the most techniques that provide the other with necessary attention and love, therefore eye communication is certainly one of the major Conversation Etiquette rules.

- One of the best strategies to have people thinking you are effective at conversation is to keep listening and pay enough attention to what they are saying.
