An effective and reliable disaster communication system is of paramount importance to both those affected by crises and emergency teams seeking relief, and those who survive need to quickly obtain information on available aid services or on possible ways to communicate with providers aid, while the latter needs tools that support its emergency communications response and help it connect to its headquarters.
Current efforts to improve communications between providers and recipients of humanitarian aid have been influenced primarily by the following three global trends: the proliferation of humanitarian quality and accountability initiatives; increasing the availability and use of ICTs in developing countries; As changes in the role of media actors in the humanitarian response, particularly with regard to the use of ICTs, significant progress has been made in the development and deployment of mobile data collection and mapping solutions.
