Summary

The British Academy for Training and Development offers a training course on records and documents security. It is presented to whoever desires to protect files and records from being misused or lost via information security systems. It is also for anyone who is willing to gain enough experience in information security.

Information security means securing data, documents, and records over the internet. Thanks to technological development, it is better to depend on technical means in maintaining information security. Information security is the term used to prevent revealing information to unauthorized individuals; for example, using credit cards in business transactions over the internet, it requires to insert the card number, so it is transferred between the buyer and the seller. The system here tries to keep the confidentiality through decoding the card number while sending. That is to avoid reaching the storage locations or the appearance of the serial number and the ID number in databases, registers, backups, and printed receipts. That is to prevent reaching the storage locations, but if any of those unauthorized persons  reaches the ID number, it is regarded as hacking the privacy of information security and storing data.

The last decade of the twentieth century has witnessed several developments in the field of Information Technology and Communication. These modern developments in networking have given institutions the chance to link their departments together using a unified system, no matter how far the distance between them is. They mainly depend on the recent developments witnessed by the methods of creating, saving and exchanging electronic sheets. It also affects the easiness of transferring messages, records, and software to any location linked to network around the world. This has lead a great deal of public and private institutions to use international communication networks. Consequently, the spread of these new methods has helped in using electronic records by public and private institutions without having any hard copies for them, which means that all the work is done electronically.
